The Rivers Clearance Centre in Lutwyche Brisbane is typical of the Rivers Clearance Stores which are quite abundant according to the very friendly store manager Gaby.

 

Technically the stores are not considered Factory Outlets, but Clearance centres as apposed to the Retail Concept Stores. The main difference is that the Clearance stores are self service and the store is laid out with all the stock on the shelves and Cartons which are around the store.

 

The other main difference is that retail stores work to a 6 point policy and Clearance stores work to a 3 point policy which includes;- Friendly Interaction with all customers, Help customers to help themselves, and offer a friendly farewell.

 

Now, the store was huge and was filled with all sorts of products for men and women and offered prices like  men's and women's shirts from $19.00 men's jumpers and pants from $29.95 each and big savings all round on everything from Ladies boots ( up to 50% off).

 

As is the case now with almost all areas of retail and everything else for that fact, most of the products are made in China, this is of course not a bad thing, its now a fact of life.

 

Personally, I liked the Rivers Clearance Centre outlet, there were lots of bargains and a relaxed atmosphere, and even though they refer to themselves as a Clearance Centre, I though it was really a Factory Outlet, they were selling products that were made for their label and the style of the store was conducive with bargains and savings. Great range and great prices on a well made range of products.
